here! Networks and Regent Media Join Outfest Legacy Project for LGBT Film Preservation

here! and Regent Titles To Be Added to the LGBT Film Preservation Branch of the UCLA Film & Television Archive

LOS ANGELES – October 18, 2006 – here!, America's premium gay television network, and Regent Media, which finances, produces and distributes award-winning and profitable theatrical and television content, have announced that they will be contributing over 40 titles to Outfest's Legacy Project for LGBT Film Preservation, a singular program devoted to addressing the crisis in LGBT film preservation and protecting and preserving the landmark LGBT films produced over the past 30 years. This initial donation will be part of an ongoing partnership in which here! and Regent will continue to donate titles on a yearly basis.

Award-winning films "Gods & Monsters," "Beautiful Boxer," "HellBent" and "Summer Storm" along with fan favorites "Julie Johnson," "Callas Forever" and "Queens" and here! Originals including "Dante's Cove," "Third Man Out: A Donald Strachey Mystery," and "Tides of War" will be included in this initial donation to the Legacy Project.

Outfest Legacy Project is the only program in the world devoted to addressing the crisis in LGBT film preservation. In partnership with the UCLA Film & Television Archive, the Legacy Project has established the largest publicly accessible collection of LGBT moving images in the world. In addition, Outfest and UCLA are collecting film prints and other material for permanent preservation, will strike new prints for widespread public exhibition and restore damaged films to their initial release forms.
