LOS ANGELES – April 16, 2007 – here!, America's premium gay television network, is pleased to announce that openly gay actress/model Jenny Shimizu will be joining the cast of the supernatural gothic soap opera "Dante's Cove", which will begin production on its third season April 28th in Hawaii. Season three of "Dante's Cove" will debut on the network in October 2007.

The popular series "Dante's Cove", named the Best Soap Opera by The Advocate in 2006, recently became the first series from a gay television network to be renewed for a third season. "Dante's Cove" tells the story of an ensemble of mainly gay and lesbian characters who all live together at the Hotel Dante in the sleepy, beachside community of "Dante's Cove". When a dark, supernatural force is accidentally released from the basement of the Hotel Dante, the hotel residents are plunged into a world of intrigue, secrets and shifting romantic ties.

Sure to capture the attention of here!'s growing female audience, Shimizu will join the show as Elena, the owner of an art gallery who is taking an extended vacation in "Dante's Cove". While visiting the Cove, Elena finds herself falling for sexy oceanographer/bartender Brit, played by Michelle Wolff.

Jenny Shimizu first landed in popular culture in the early '90s, and has become known for breaking stereotypes and creating visibility for minorities not only as an Asian model, but also as an out lesbian. Her break came when she appeared in Calvin Klein's moody, androgynous fragrance campaign. As countless other designers began featuring her in prominent campaigns - Versace, Gaultier, and Anna Sui to name a few - Shimizu dove into film and television. Her racy roles include a turn as a troubled young drug addict in the provocative drama Foxfire, as the featured dancer in Madonna's music video for the hit single Rain, as a recurring guest star on Ellen, and just this year as a member of the ensemble cast for the critically-acclaimed lesbian feature Itty Bitty Titty Committee, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2007. Shimizu was recently named by Power Up as one of the 10 Most Amazing Women in Show Business for 2006 and was included in the E! Television special on The Sexiest Super Models in the World.
