April 4 – here!, America's premium gay television network, is pleased to announce that it has signed a development deal with Elizabeth Keener ("The L Word") for a new hour-long dramatic series. Keener, who will star in the series, will also have a hand in developing the show with the network.
The series, a cross between "Silence of the Lambs" and "Twin Peaks," centers around a lesbian FBI agent (Keener) sent on an extended undercover assignment in a mysterious small town. Keener's complex, darkly-comedic character juggles personal demons with the demands of her investigation, and soon finds herself increasingly enmeshed in the lives of the town's inhabitants.
Most recently, Keener played aggressive businesswoman 'Dawn Denbo' on "The L Word." Keener has also had featured and guest starring roles in shows and movies such as "Crossing Jordan," "Friends with Money," and "CSI." She has previously played lesbian characters in "Felicity" and the short film "Getting to Know You."
Elizabeth Keener is extraordinarily talented, and we feel truly fortunate to be in business with her on this exciting project, said Meredith Kadlec, Senior Vice President of Original Programming.
here! Networks sees the collaboration with Elizabeth Keener as an important milestone in its continued efforts to provide high-quality, ground-breaking gay and lesbian television to its viewers.
